UN Says Up To 3.2 Million People Have Already Been Displaced Inside Iran By The War

The UN refugee agency reports that up to 3.2 million people inside Iran have already been forced to flee their homes due to the ongoing war.

This does not refer to refugees leaving the country, but to massive internal displacement. Families are leaving major cities and moving toward rural regions or the north of the country to escape airstrikes and military operations.

To understand the scale: That is roughly the entire population of Berlin suddenly on the move.

Humanitarian agencies warn that the situation could worsen rapidly if the fighting continues, as millions more civilians remain in areas affected by strikes.

The numbers are still developing as new assessments come in.
